we all have stories about how poker changed our lives,

in my case, the highlight of my poker career happened early 90's, i was visiting my cousin in Vegas and stayed there for 3 months, i had $4k in my pocket, i stepped into Mirage(used to have a lot of poker traffic), played 15/30 limit, and ran my money up to $12k. Then i figure why not try 30/60 at Bellagio, i was so hot hitting gutshots, and after 2 months of grinding my money got up to $60k.

Then went back to LA, spent some money on strip bars, lots of drinking, next thing i know my money is back down to 30k. So I went to Commerce casino, played 40/80, all 30k gone after 2 weeks, i could no longer hit anything, easy come easy go, that's when i realize i only got lucky, there is an old saying its "better lucky than good", but I found out the hard way that luck rans out but being good in poker will eventually get you to the promiseland.

At the moment, im playing limit games and low limit PLO and do not plan to play higher stakes, im done with that. One thing i learn from poker, even after playing for 25 years, I'm not good at it and im not ashame to admit it.

For some odd reason I'm on a roll for the second month in a row, I'm not winning big but every session is a winning session, and i'm trying to push my luck by playing more than ever. Hitting flops, turns and rivers, my self-confidence is so high right now. My winnings is about $2400 just for this month, and this has created some problems.

First my wallet broke because of too much money bills, it's hard to fold and i had to put it in my front pocket instead of my back pocket, i will buy a new wallet this weekend, i dont want to deposit it in the bank due to my feng shui poker belief that you dont touch your money in your wallet unless you are spending it.

Second, I'm getting tempted to go up to $8/$16 LHE which i did in the past and the result were not good.

Third, I am delaying a lot of things in my life, like thorough cleaning of the house, visit to the Philippines, and playing basketball with buddies to name a few.

Fourth and last, my wife seems to think that i have a mistress, she's complaining that I dont bang her as much like I normally do, I told her to use the sex toys i gave her but she wants the real deal.

Too many things to do but not enough time, grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Brick and Mortar Grind

After mourning the death of online poker, i had no other choice but to go back to Brick and Mortar place called Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. Although i've been winning lately, i still do not enjoy playing live anymore, for one, driving here in LA is such a pain. Then Casino takes so much rake that its hard to win big, biggest win i had one time is only $800 on a 10 hr session of $4/$8 Full kill Limit Holdem, if not for the rake, that would have easily reach a $1000. Also the smell of fellow poker players is unbearable, fart after fart, and the armpit sweat odor is the worse and sadly its happening here everyday due to summer weather.

I just cant win this month, both live and online, I decided to stop playing live and at FT, will just play micro games at PS.

Yesterday was the worse, I wanted to break my pc and my flat screen TV but opted to just punish my wife. Threw her on the bed and just slap her all over her body and gave her the roughest sex i could remember. Swiss high court has deemed Texas Hold'em a game of chance in a recent decision. This means that only casinos are allowed to hold poker tournaments for money in the country.

Texas Hold'em tournaments in restaurants and hotels have been popular but the Swiss casinos demanded the sole right to organize these tournaments. The following blog post does not really belong to me but from another forum but I like to quote him because I kinda share the same sentiment, the discussion is about online poker cash games being tougher nowadays.

There seems to two shared fantasy in this community regarding fishy players

1) Poor players are too stupid to get better over time

2) Poor players have infinite resources available to keep dumping into playing online poker

I lurk around these forums and find both of these fantasies repeated over and over in various forms ... and they are exactly that ... fantasies ... having nothing to do with the reality of what if means to be a bad online poker player.

I speak from personal experience, as a bad player. I'm very happy to report that I'm what is affectionately known as a FISHY player. I'm your dream customer, and not embarrassed to admit it even in the slightest. How do I know I'm a bad player ? Easy .... it's because I lose more often than I win. A lot more often.

But being a fishy player does not make me a STUPID person ... and this is the point that is so often overlooked on forums such as this. Because I can do the math pretty well .. and at the end of the month ... my lack of stellar results cannot be denied. The red color of my results is all there in black and white on my credit card bill ... each and every month. And that's exactly why I so rarely play online poker any more.

And there are millions of others just like me ... MILLIONS. Countless players who for whatever reason don't want to take the time and concentration required to be able to beat the current incarnation of the online version of our favorite game. So that's why I play live now .. which is just fine ... because when you are a BAD ONLINE PLAYER .... playing live is a lot more fun anyway.

Online poker is obviously doomed as a way to make an "easy" living. And even as a tough living, it's obviously coming to an end sooner rather than later. In very short order, the game has becoming a remarkably sophisticated and difficult profession. Like so many other 'soft' ways to make a buck in this tough old world ... very quickly there is an explosion of smart people intent on taking their own piece of the pie. Because at the end of the day, it's just not THAT difficult to become a solid online player ... plenty of resources exist to help one become a stronger player ... IF you are willing to put in the time. Those who are so willing become the regs who post on this forum ... those who are not so willing become the fish who feed the regs for a short while ... until the day they decide it's not that much fun of a hobby to be shark food ... and they move on .. just like I did.

Regardless of the proposed change in US laws regarding online gambling ... at the end of the day ... there are simply far too many good players now to make the experience of being a fish even remotely fun. The new laws (which probably won't pass anyway) will hardly become the Nirvana that so many people on here hope that it will. There are simply too many strong players now ... if you look at the game from the perspective of the fish ... it's just not something very fun to do in one's spare time any more.

I'm guessing 90 percent of the current crop of US based online "pros" will leave the "profession" within the next two or three years. Regardless of the changes in laws. The reality is the same as it has always been regarding playing poker as a profession ... if one is smart enough to beat the game .. one is smart enough to make far greater amounts of money doing something more worthwhile. This is just the way it is.

Thirty years ago I dropped out of college and moved to Vegas to play poker which I did for about nine months ... I beat the game okay .... and thought I had found my life's calling. Until one day I found myself sitting next to an old guy named Johnny Moss who basically talked me into going back to school in one sentence. Moss told me that there is no sadder life than one where your BEST day is finding a table to sit at all day long with eight people stupider than you. His words stuck with me for the next few weeks ... and eventually led me to quit playing poker for a living ... and going to find work instead making video games ... I never looked back .. and it was without question the best decision I ever made.

No doubt this post will receive the standard put downs and insults reserved for 'outsiders' who post on this forum .... and that's fine. I'm sort of looking forward to it, actually. But if one person out there at least thinks about the message here ... it's worth it. Because I know that reading this is at least one person who is giving serious consideration to leaving this profession and going back to the "real world" they abandoned so that they could play poker for their daily bread. Yeah .. the games really are a lot tougher know then they were even a year ago. Sure, you can get better, study more, hang tough, etc.

But just know that it's a blessing that the games are becoming a lot tougher ... and you are considering leaving this profession and finding an "honest" living so to speak. Because if you are smart enough to beat this game, especially in it's current form ... [B]you are smart enough to make TONS more money and live a more fulfilling life doing something else. I was playing $9/$18 LHE at the Commerce casino and there is this big fish on my right that's just giving away his money, so we are all just taking turns taking his money and we want to get more. Then suddenly he farted , and at the spur of the moment I've decided to own it and said "Ooops Sorry guys, i ate too much" even though everybody knows the big fish is the one who farted. Sure enough the fish stayed and dumped another $500 before he realized limit holdem is not for him, after he left one guy gave me a high five.

As I was driving home I felt this disgust about myself and thinking, "Wow I cant believe I just did that", but then I looked at my wallet and saw an extra $430, i just shrugged it off and vowed to do it again.

Anyway, please feel free to share your experience if you have done things to keep the fish in the game.

Some People Should Not Be Playing Poker

The other day i was driving and saw this familiar face scrounging through a trash bin, i regularly play with this guy at the Hawaaian Gardens CAsino, $3/$6 Limit Omaha. I'm thinking picking up plastics is just a hobby for this old guy.

That same night I played Limit Omaha and that same Old guy sits to my right, Im a raiser and i like to build pots but that night i could not seem to do it against this guy. I even gave him a freebie when I checked the nuts on the river on one of the hands. He is very passive and could hardly see the flop, he is just giving away his money, when he finally lost all his money(mostly to me), he stood up, wished everybody goodluck and left. I felt really bad for the guy, I wanted to give him his $100 back but i'm sure he'll just blow it again on the felt.
As I was driving home, i could not stop thinking about him and saying to myself, "I hope I dont become like him".

Anyway, I like to ask some of you, HAve you ever felt bad for any of your poker opponents(except friends and relatives), complete stranger when they are losing?

RAIL ADDICTION

Since this FTOPS started, i could not get enough of railing these events, I kept telling my self to play cash games instead of railing but I always end up railing even though I'm running good lately on my cash games.

Dont know why I'm addicted to it, watching these famous and unknown people gives me the satisfaction, like the other day I was watching a Fulltilt pro Thomas Bihl, he was cruising the Razz FTOPS event then boom suddenly he's out, I was very dissappointed.

Other Pros I railed are Aaron Bartley, Chip Jett and his lovely wife Karina, also railed Rkrouk and AKJHoosier.

Midnight Madness

Last night i got bored while railing Fulltilt FTOPS Stud H/L, so i fired up 3 events, $6.50 KO 90 man sng, $3.30 KO mtt and the $11 Midnight Madness. I'm a cash game player so I'm not that good at these tournament Poker, I used ABC poker and managed to money on all 3 events.

Took 5th on that $6.50 90man sng for $36 + $4 KO's, then 45th out of 1099 on the $3.30, got $7.69 + $2 KO's and lastly folded my way to 19th out 2451 players on that Midnight Madness for $96.

Midnight MAdness is what gave me the excitement, i was down to 2 bb on the initial phase after my QQ got cracked by JT suited, i was short the whole time, i was half BB on the bubble(351 players)then managed to picked small pots along the way, roller coaster ride and it ended at 19th place, it felt like I was making out with Megan Fox at one moment then realized it was Rosie Odonnell, you know what I mean.

Gays Just Want to Have Fun

Last Sunday I went to Commerce casino and decided to play $100 nl instead of my normal game of $4/$8 LHE, sat down and noticed 2 other peeps called in for table change.

Turns out 5 gay friends are playing, one is wearing women clothing which is nothing unusual for me but I felt like I'm in a Brokeback Mountain convention or somethin. They are loud especially when somebody get rivered, so the Poker Supervisor had to come down and warn them to tone it down.

Then came down a hand between one of the gay guys versus an Old man on the table, it was a raised pot, Old man bet and Gay guy went all in, Old man tanked and looked at the Gay guy and so the Gay guy look at him back and decided to stick his tongue out provocatively(like seducing somebody) and that did it, the Old man folded his Top pair and the Gay guy showed his 2nd pair bluff, table erupted in laughter and the poor Old man called for a table change.

Anyway, i wasn't happy with my play, got it all in with bottom set on a flop of 345 and one Gay guy who looked like Rupaul(Rupaul.com) got A2, no help on both turn and river and I was down a hundo. I changed table after that beat and was playing $4/$8 LHE when suddenly i heard a lot of yelling, it's between the Gays vs a midget Vietnamese guy, from what I gathered it was something about string bet. Then after 5 minutes, saw all the Gays being escorted by Security out of the Poker room , not sure why but I guess too much Gayness is not good.

Luckily for me I was able to recover my losses and won about $18 and called it a night. Outside the Casino, I saw the Gays smoking something and laughing, this is just one of those weird night for me.

I want to make Pokerstars Platinum VIP level so bad but not bad enough to take a work dayoff to get to it. Im currently only 2500 VPP away from Platinum, at the moment im juggling family, work and online poker.

Well, join me in my quest to make Platinum VIP level, i will try to update everyday as to how many more VPP i need, its September 16 and i have until midnight on September 30th.

I normally multitable a mixture of $1/$2 shorthanded LHE, .5/1 Limit Omaha full ring, .5/1 Seven card stud and .25/.50 NL full ring, depending on my mood. I know Pot Limit Omaha is the fastest way but i suck at it. You need 7500 VPP per month to get to Platinum level, wish me luck.

I've been looking for ways to get T$ quick, the 210 fpp satty to Pokerstars Quarter million takes a while to finish, so I finally saw in another forum that there's another satellite to Quarter million that's quicker and it's the 280 fpp hyperturbo.

Wow this is the bomb, i played 8 of them and won 5 for a whopping 55 T$, sold it to my buddy for $55 even and I got an additional $55 on my account, and it took me less than an hour for the whole 8 to finish.

Goodbye No Limit

I finally decided and convinced my self that No Limit cash games is not for me, its just a vicious cycle that keeps repeating. I would win like a gran playing shorthanded Limit but lose it all playing No Limit, its just sick.

Reason why i keep playing No Limit is i get to maintain my gold status and accumulate more fpps to get stuff, you dont even have to play a hand especially if you have at least 10 tables open, you'll get lots of fpps. I already bought some caps and shirts using fpps and one $200 electronic gift certificate(13,000 fpps).

No limit is also giving me the ultimate poker rush especially when winning a big pot from a cold stoned bluff, amazing feeling. Limit game is so boring, playing limit is like having to suck on Cow's tits instead of Jennifer Tilly's tits and believe me I had the privilege of sucking on JEnnifer Tilly's humungous tits and would have bang her too if my alarm did not sound off.

So here i am quitting No Limit and will forever be stuck on sucking Cow's tits so as not to lose my bankroll, Goodbye No Limit.

Well, im not really running so good at Fulltilt but there was an incident two days ago where a beggar is bugging the hell out of one guy, apparently they are distant relative. So after a couple of rounds i won a pretty big pot and the beggar congratulated me little that he knows im down so much money. Then he started asking me for money, $5 is the minimum transfer at FT so i told him i cant, then started saying good stuff about me, saying he's been to Long Beach California, I know he could just be using google to get all these info but for some reason it worked, i sent him $5.

I know you'll going to say I'm stupid, I'm down at least $2000 at Fulltilt but i still gave away money, my reasoning is I used to be broke, i was so broke I go to KFC and lick other peoples fingers, he he he.

Anyway, growing up in Manila, I used to sell sampaguita flowers in Cubao, Philippines just to get by, i ate one meal a day just so i can use the money for my schooling.I have a soft spot in my heart for beggars, I even gave away money at Pokermanila members, not big but enough to make them say thank you from the heart.

Yesterday I was browsing through Fulltilt tourneys and saw lots of Red Pro, like David Pham and Stuart Patterson playing $150 event.

Then I went to the $1 10k event and saw one Red pro named Aaron Bartley and I wondered if Fulltilt is paying him to play this low stake event or he is just bored, I mean if I'm a red pro I will not play low stakes tourneys because my reputation is at stake, they may think I'm busto and make fun of me.

Anyway It's nice to see a red pro playing $1 tourneys and hope to see more, we would like to learn from the best.

By the way, last live event money of Aaron was August 2006 for a cool 47 gran.

God got pwned

Last Sunday, i decided to play at the Commerce and God was playing too, for all you non-believers, God exist and he is fond of poker.

So I sat down at the $100 No Limit table, God was directly in front of me, his beard seems perfectly cut. He seem to be in a good mood and singing "What If God Was One Of Us".

Anyway, I raised AsJs MP and God flat called me in the BB, flop was A,9,4 rainbow. He checked and I bet 3/4 the pot and he went all in, wow, i said to my self, "how would you like to be check raised by the almighty?", not the greatest feeling. So I decided to ask him some questions, first was, "that good huh" but he did not answer and could not seem to make eye contact, I asked him again, "you got an Ace" but he would not budge and seem can not hold it anymore and finally said, "i only got the 9", I instacalled and won the pot.

He further said that, "you know I cant lie, im God and lying is not setting a good example, I thought there would be less questions on low stakes", I agreed with him and nodded my head, felt sorry for the guy.

That put him on tilt, and he wasted another $1,000, he finally stood up and said, "I'm done, darn I was gonna use that money to build a Church in Nicaragua, oh well that's Poker".

When he was walking out of the Commerce, one guy asked him to take him to heaven with him and God answered, "sure if you can spot a me $500", the guy agreed and gave him five $100 chips, he looked at our table and yelled, "Deal me in".

Multitabling Equals Free Money and Stuff

I'm loving Pokerstars right now, I'm now at platinum VIP level and hope to reach Supernova. I achieved this by multitabling 0.50/1.00 Limit, .25/50 NL, and .25/.50 7 card Stud and I accumulated lots of FPP's.

So far I have used my FPP's to satellite into events, get T$, bought caps and T-shirts. I want to try the 5000 FPP turbo takedown but I have ballet and quilting classes on weekends so I cant get to these events.

I'm thinking of buying DVD's but all they have are poker related DVD's, they should have the classics like "Gone with the Wind", "Wizard of Oz", "Gigli" and the all time favorite "Brokeback Mountain".

If you want to accumulate FPP's fast I recommend multitabling, I'm a shortstacker so there's not a lot of thinking involve, I usually open 14-18 tables, you can get 2000 FPP's easy in one seating especially if you are on Platinum VIP level. The disadvantage however is you will not win big when you multitable/shortstacking but the variance is less.

The Swine Flu Pandemic

Wow, this is not good, this Swine flu is spreading like Britney Spears legs, so many people died and more are infected every hour. According to studies, swine flu came from a person who were up close and personal with his pig, maybe he did the nasty thang with his pet pig and that's how it all got started.

Mexico just cant catch a break, after apologizing for the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua now this pandemic happens, it really sucks for them but I'm sure they can contain these cases, they are known to be Mexicans and not Mexican'ts.

Anyway, last time I had a flu was when I opened an account with Absolute poker, I can describe the bad feelings I had when suffering from a flu from these 3 scenarios,

-its like getting bad beats for a week.
-its like being a sex slave of Kathy Liebert for a week.
-its like getting touch inappropriately by Amarillo Slim for a week.

I know this is kinda lame and in poor taste but I'm doing this to put a smile on everybody's face much like when the Southpark peeps said that Canada already apologized for Celine Dion and Bryan Adams.

I will never pay for online tourneys using money again. What I'm going to do from now on is accumulate FPP's from playing cash games then use them to get T$ or tokens.

At Pokerstars, I will wait until I get 630 FPP's then I will satellite to Sunday 1/4 Million(210 FPP buy in), so if I win 2 out of 3 that would be 22 T$ I can use to play $6.50 45 MTT or other medium buy in tourneys.

At Fulltilt, I will wait until I get 1800 FPP's then play the 9 STT 1800 FPP buy in and try to get a $26 token, this is pretty easy to do, the hard part is using the $26 token to money on MTT's, I'll be honest I have not monied using these tokens yet unlike at Pokerstars where its easy to get those T$ to become real money.

Last night, one of my horse(guy I regularly stake at Poker) sent me an urgent message to give him a call immediately. I figured he needs a stake at his regular game of $30+$3 MTT at Pokerstars or he saw an overlay somewhere and he wants to give me a headsup.

So I called him, he immediately said that he's on a serious downswing and I told him I just got back from the Philippines and do not have enough dough but I can ship him $50 at the moment but he said he still has $400 on his account and all he needs is for me to transfer some play money to his account. I thought he was kidding, who the hell transfer play money, I asked him what's going on, he said he played a lot of MTT's lately and constantly bubbling, not getting ITM and seem to have lost his mojo.

I told him not to bother playing those kind of games because he will not learn anything from it and advised him to downgrade to low MTT's and his answer is, "I'm having fun playing these non-real money games, Are you going to help me or not?". I just shook my head and helped out the poor guy.

No Chat For Two Weeks

While playing, a moderator told me that although I dont use profanity other players are getting distracted because I chat too much. So there you have it people, a warning to everyone, dont chat too much, my question is, Do you think this is just the action of that moderator?, I'm thinking there's got to be a player who complained and emailed Pokerstars.

Ron Kluber completed from the small blind and Liz Lieu checked her option. Blinds are 4,000/8,000 with 12 people left on the tourney, already in the money.

On a flop of (6d Th Jd) Kluber led out for 20,000 and Lieu made the call. The turn landed the (5c) and Kluber pushed a stack worth 95,000 into the middle forcing Lieu into the tank.
After several minutes she layed down (4d 7d) with Kluber following suit showing (Jh 8h) and the pot.

So she folded an open ended flush draw, I like to get an idea as to when is the correct time to call with open ended flush draw with one card left(river) in an MTT, maybe my imaginary friends can help me out here.

Cant Even Win In My Own Dream

I was drooling over this tournament in Manila, Asian Poker Tour, I slept last night thinking I should've been there but I cant due to work and other commitments.

Anyway, last night I dreamt that I was heads up with Barry Greenstein for the coveted Asian Poker Tour first prize money. Mimi Tran, Bob Stupak, Steve Zolotow and Joe sebok are in the audience cheering for Barry. I remembered vividly Barry is slightly ahead in chip count, I got dealt T8 suited and called the miniraised from Barry.

Flop was T86 rainbow, I checked and Barry bet big, I hollywood for a moment then went all in, he reluctantly called with 69.

Turn was an Ace

But the river is a freakin 6.

I cant even win in my own dream, wth.

Midgets are people too

Last Sunday I went to play $4-$8 Limit Holdem at Commerce CAsino, I played with this midget guy who kept complaining about how casinos are not midget friendly, he's right why does he need to bring his own seat addon to play poker, they should have a high chair much like kids when they eat in a restaurant.

Anyway he went on and on about how he cant reach the chips and cards on the table and some other issues then proceeded to ask me a question which caught me by surprise why me?. "Why is it that there's no events for midgets at the annual WSOP?", so I just look at him seriously and answered, "Because that would be a tall order". The table burst into laughter including the little guy, I thought he would be offended but he's cool with it and surprisingly he also stopped whining too.

Hey that's a great idea that would surely bring in ratings, how about half buy in events for the midgets. This could be the newest event WSOP can introduce this year.

I'm a Big Stud

This morning I got bored playing donkaments and just wandered in and around Pokerstars and saw a familiar game, 7 card Stud. This is the first game I have learned to play growing up in the Philippines, I visited my cousin in Olongapo City and there I saw a group of old and retired US Navy peeps playing this game. I observed and learned the game, my cousin told me to sit down and it was like baptism of fire, luckily I kept getting trips and flushes that I won $10 on the session which is pretty big during that time.

Fast forward to present time, I used to grind this game at HAwaiian Gardens but I got tired of the big casino rake and smelly old farts playing Stud. One funny thing I encountered playing Stud was when the casino was full and this young guy sat down and thought he was playing Hold em game, he asked, "Dealer, why did you show one of my cards", we all laugh and the poor kid stood up and left. This is so great, I can play Stud at home, it must have been a big undertaking for the programmers to get this game going online.

Anyway, I was surprised to learn from National Enquirer(you know they are never wrong) that my friend Chuck Norris was supposed to be going to Somalia to hunt down Somali pirates but Human Right Activist protested saying that would be too cruel. Instead, Chuck is stuck in India working as a call center tech support agent, bad economy is sure affecting everybody.

New Year, New Donkaments

I was looking at Pokerstars and they have this new 90 MTT with 12 places getting paid, this is sweet, they have a 3.25 buy in(Turbo ) with 1500 chips then a $5.50 buyin (non-Turbo) with 2000 starting chips. I like this type of MTT's, 180 MTT and up are too long and too much for me. Fult tilt's version is the 90 KO sit n go, they also have a $5.50 90 MTT with 18 places getting paid but it takes more than an hour to fill up.

I timed 3 MTT's at Pokerstars from zero to full, I did it this morning 8am Pacific time, first was 45 MTT $6.50 and it took 2 minutes and 21 seconds to fill up, while it took 6 min 2 sec for the 90 MTT $5.50. Then I went to Fulltilt and timed the 90 KO MTT on both 3.30 and 10+1 KO MTT, the $3.30 took 6 min & 35 sec while the 10+1 took 11 minutes to fill up. Well there's nothing surprising about this data, there are more traffic on Pokerstars than fulltilt, but for me who have less than 2 hrs of poker play everyday, it does not make sense to go on Fulltilt at all.

By the way, my friend Chuck Norris just called me and asked if I have authorization to use the word "KO" on my blog and I said no but he's in a good mood so he's letting me use this word "KO", apparently Fulltilt is paying Chuck Norris for using the word KO on their site, KO and other words like dead, killed, roundhouse kick, action and spanked are all trademark by my friend Chuck Norris, so dont just use these words without his permission, just a friendly reminder.

I'm so bummed about my major flaw on my online poker game, and that is misclicks, yup I kept experiencing misclicks. I was the chip leader of a 4000 MTT and 200 people left, I mistakenly called an all in bet my another player who's chip is almost as big as mine and I lost it, he had KK and I had J4 offsuit, darn.

Then it happened again I was playing PLO and I didn't mean to call the bet of the other player and that cost me $40, that is what I can only remember, it just happens a lot to me, I dont know what to do. I only remember one time I won a misclick, I had 25 offsuit and the other guy had Aces, he flopped an Ace for his trips but I rivered him with my wheel straight, I won $27 there.

Sexy Time with my FPP's

So I'm looking at my 4000 fpp's and I'm thinking how I'm going to convert this to money, dinero,or benjamins. I looked at Pokerstar site and saw that if I have 25,000 fpp's I can sell it for $285 but I'm 21,000 short, so I went looking for fpp satellites that I can join in and saw this 210 fpp satellite to the Guiness world record tournament, 20 people gets to play, top six gets the seat and you can unregister if you want.

I joined this satellite over and over until I accumulated 176 T$ and my fpp's are gone, now the next task is to use this tournament money and turn them into cash and the best way possible that I saw was the "Double or Nothing" tourneys, 10 people battle it out to the first 5 spots and the other 5 gets nothing. I joined this tourney over and over until finally it's over, my 4,000 fpp's are now $155, woooohoooo.

So I had the day off last Monday and decided to play a $2.20 shootout at Pokerstars, almost a 1000 players, being the donkey I am I really didn't expect anything, you have this feeling like, "whatever I'm ready to lose", I know the attitude is wrong but I have not won anything since Al gore invented the internet.

but for some reason I kept eliminating one player after another and the next thing I know I'm headsup with this guy for the whole thing, he has a massive chip lead and he kept putting me all in until I got tired of it and called with Ace rag. And that was the turning point, I won 3 more coin flips, the game was over and I'm $319 richer, woooohooo.

Anyway, I checked my stat online(nick=kobenator) and I'm a whopping 72% ROI, I dont know what that means but it feels good, I know what you're thinking, it's only $319, but for me it's big, I have won thousands of dollars playing live Limit Holdem but that's back when Limit hold em was still alive.

Me and my girlfriend arrived at Mccarran Airport and we met this wealthy guy, he offered to share his limousine on our way to our hotel and we said ok and we thought that's the end of it.

So while we were gambling at the Bellagio, we saw him again playing at the high limit area, so we watched him a bit and he was winning, not sure how much but after that we went drinking at the bar and he asked this question to both of us.

"Suppose... I were to offer you 250 gran for one night with your girlfriend.", my mind is saying", "heck yeahh you can have this beeyotch" but I answered "nope, she is very special". surprisingly my girfriend said, "I'll do it but no anal". when the wealthy guy heard the word anal, he seem disgusted and dissappointed, he then blurted, "I'm just kidding", and I countered by saying, "I know you were, ha ha ha", then he paid the bill and left us alone. I looked at my girlfriend and I wanted to say, " Way to negotiate dummmy" but I kept quite, she looked at me with that look, "sorry, I would have given you 50 gran from that loot" but she did not say a word. We didn't talk the whole night and went to our room and slept.

Christmas Bad Beat!!!

LAst night I was on a holiday spirit and put out christmas decorations on our front porch inclucing an $80 Christmas lantern, but when I woke up this morning the lantern was gone, I was devastated, I know the economy is bad but come on steal a freakin lantern, wtf.

Anyway, that incident ruined my day, I went online and played at my favorite site Pokerstars and just talked smack with everybody, I irritated the short stackers by calling them fungus that feeds on pond scum. I also made fun of open limpers on the button when nobody has actually limp in before them, I mean why do it, why not raise it, even miniraise it, steal the damn blinds, that is the right thing to do.

So now that I'm calmed down, I woulld like everybody to have a good Christmas, even if you just lost your job and short on dough, just try to have a good Christmas, spread the goodwill to everyone. Merry Chrismas everybody.

Ellix Powers is back!!!!!

I went to Hollywood park casino and there he was the man the legend Ellix Powers, did not bother him, I know for sure it was him but not 100% sure. I know this is a very long time ago but he likes talking trash when he's playing and he irritated a lot of people especially James "Mr. Best Seller" Mcmanus.

Anyway, while playing $4/$8 LHE I overheard that Ellix almost won a tournament on the same casino couple of months ago, and I said that's great, the man is back. So after winning a measly 12 bucks, I decided to call it a night and went home. I checked online and he indeed won 6 gran, not bad, I wonder how loud the table is during that tournament, they should have video tape that event or somebody please make a documentary about him.

Another African American that I like is Mike Carroll, he placed 27th on last WSOP ME, he is also as talkative and confident like my boy Ellix, in fact he can be the next Ellix.

Last night my boy Manny PAcquaio won against Oscar dela Hoya, it was a lopsided fight if you can call it a fight, they should not do this type of events anymore, they are not even close on weight categories. Anyway, Oscar should retire now and continue to wear ladies lingerie.

Black Friday

So I woke up early today, I need a lot of shirts and pants and this is the best day to purchase these stuff so I thought. I went to a local KOHL'S department store, I was able to park ok, and initially did not see a lot of people in the store.

I picked a total of 9 items, went to the fitting room, then went straight to the cashier area but what do you know the line is now very long, I was, wtf, where in the hell did these people came from, so ok I fall in line and noticed that several people are prepared for this scenario, one guy brought in 3 books and he started reading and the lady in front me took her ipod out and started listening to music while seeping hot coffee.

I was just, wow these people are smart, I could have done the same thing, I guess they do this annually. If the store have wi-fi, I could have brought my laptop and could have played poker while waiting.

Anyway, after waiting for 15 minutes I noticed that the line is not even moving so I computed pot odds(money I'm going to save if I buy these items) and all my outs(time I'm going to spend) and I concluded that it's -EV to continue.

So I started heading out of the store, threw all the stuff I picked on an empty shelf and yelled, "The hell with this line", one guy from way behind answered, "Shut the hell up", I said to my self, "No he didn't", I answered back, "you come down and make me", but nobody seems coming, "Whew", luckily he folded and did not call my bluff, I quietly took down the small imaginary pot and left hastily.

When I got out, the parking lot is so full that it took me a couple minutes to find my car, Where is that car?. Speaking of where, one guy from another forum wants to know where my buddy Chuck is, another forumer said to type, "Where is Chuck Norris?" on google and yall should get the answer.

More important than Poker

I had to take a half day off work today, I went to Sylmar this morning to look for my Aunt who were affected by the fires. My Grandpa texted me from the Philippines saying to look for my Aunt in Sylmar Highschool and to check for there condition. Coming from a broken family I'm not that close to my Father's side of the family but seeing the devastation on TV I was compelled to drive down there.

Before I went there I cooked some porridge and put it on a big crock pot, it was hell getting to that area not only because of the traffic but some parts of the area you can't get into because the police considered the area a crime scene, apparently somebody set this fire intentionally. So when I got there, I brought the copy of the picture of my Aunt that I got from Friendster and start looking at the people. I saw my Aunt and she was so happy to see me, she gave me a hug and told me that her house is not burnt but they are not allowing them to go back at the moment.

She introduced me to her husband and 3 young kids, she said that Red Cross has been feeding them cold cut sandwiches and they seem satisfied. I told them that I cooked some porridge for the kids, My aunt helped me carry the porridge and when I opened the lid the aroma spread to the whole gym and immediately there are other people who wanted to partake. So I hurried up and gave my Aunt's kids plastic bowl and gave them bowl of porridge, I looked on to my Aunt and she gave me the look that they're ok and its ok to give away the remaining porridge. I explained to the other people that I didn't bring much and that the food would be beneficial to the children and they complied, there must have been at least 12 kids that went running and I gave them food until its all empty, I also gave a bowl to an elderly woman who said that she's a having a hard time chewing food, one parent cried thanking me.

I talked to my Aunt for almost an eternity, we exchanged call numbers and gave her the remaining supplies I bought for them. when I left the area, I saw a lot of people with worried look and most of them seem tired of crying, reminded me of my past when I could not afford anything, I still dont have much but I'm sure I'm better that some of these people who lost their houses on this fire. While I'm driving home there, I noticed that I could not stop crying.

I know yall accustomed to seeing funny anectdotes from me but today I wont, let's just pray for these people and more strength for the Firefighters who's putting there life on the line to put these fires out.

I was playing NL online last night with two female poker players, they were talking about life in general, then suddenly the other other lady shared that she is breast feeding while playing. I was cool with that but not this kid who said, "Yuck, that's disgusting, we didn't need to know that". these two female players became Angry Vaginas alternately berating the kid until the poor kid left, I just kept quite which is unusual, I normally like to take part on these kind of situations.

Lots of good female poker players, Did you that Barbara Enright is the first female poker player who've reach the final table of the WSOP ME? Jennifer Tilly is not bad either, tiffany Michelle is the latest success story, she finished 17th on the last WSOP ME. KAthy Liebert is also an excellent poker player but many believes she's not a woman, apparently she's hanged like a horse.

Vagina plays a big part in mainstream poker, you see Vaginas during the money presentation, Vaginas also interviews poker players, a certain Vagina named Phillida HEllmuth also said that she can dodge bullet, baby.

Last Sunday, I went to my future in-laws house to pay my respect and to asked for their daughter's hand, they reluctantly said ok, they would have preferred my gf's ex who is a Doctor.

I helped out in preparing the food, met all my gf's family including Brusko, my gf's older brother who is gay. Let me tell you about Filipino gay guys, most prefer straight guys unlike here in the US where most gay guys settle with fellow gay guys.

So I was carrying this big plate of food and here comes Brusko smiling at me and said, "Hmmm, yummmy and I'm not talking about the food" then looked down to my genetalia area. I was stunned but I'm thinking he's just kidding, so I said, "wtf, I'm going to be your brother in law, why are you messing with me?", and he answered, "well, yall not married yet, I have more money and....my mouth is wider" and he left me laughing hysterically".

I was a bit offended but did not show it much like my attitude when I get bluffed on a pot but I'm steaming inside.. And he's right, I'm mainly marrying his sister for money and house, Brusko kind a ruined my day so I left early without my gf.

While driving my thoughts are about my incoming marriage and of course poker, so I exited Carson blvd and head down to Hawaiian gardens Casino.

I got seated on a $4/$8 LHE half kill pot game(it goes to $6/$12 when somebody wins twice in a row), after 30 minutes, I got involved on a kill pot, UTG, UTG+1 & MP all limped, so I limped too with my 3h4h, Button raised, SB 3 bet, I know this guy is very loose, that's why it was no surprised that everybody called him.

Flop was, 2h,6h,As
lots of betting and it got capped, 2 guys folded and 4 people saw the turn.

Turn, Jd,
SB bet, MP folded, I called and button raised and we both called.

River, 5h, filling up my straight flush
so board is 2h,6h,As,Jd,5h,

OMG, I cant believe this but I kept my composure, SB bet which he does all the time to get info, I raised him and Button 3 bets, SB disgustingly folded, We both re-raised one another until all my chips are in, he showed his AhKh and I happily showed my STRAIGHT FLUSH BABY. The pot is easily $500, I was so happy that I bought everybody a drink.

On the way home, I was thinking how my family would look like, doing a lot of chores like bringing my kid to school, attending parent meetings etc. Speaking of school, according to Chuck Norris's high school Pricipal, Chuck is the only one who can leave before the bell rings, one time a Teacher tried to stop chuck from leaving early, so Chuck gave him detention and made him write this lines , "I must not stop Chuck from leaving whenever he wants", the poor teacher did this for 5 hrs straight.

Well last night I hurried home so I can watch the Houston Rockets/Yao Ming(he's so sexy), so I grabbed the remote and there's a jewelry ring taped on it, and as soon as I removed the tape, my girlfriend came out of no where and went down on her knees and said, "Will you marry me?"

I paused for a moment and said yes, but my poker conscience has a question, so I said, "But please let me play poker while we're married ok?", and she said yes too, so its like we both proposed to one another, how weird is that.

Anyway, she's loaded and I see the word bankroll on her forehead, I mentioned that to her and she responded with, "really, funny coz I also see a word on your forehead and its D-O-N-K-E-Y".

Las Vegas Cutbacks

As yall know the economy is not doing good so there are massive layoffs and cutbacks in Las Vegas and these are some of the cutbacks we heard.

-at the MGM, they fired all the Lion feeders and will instead just use some of their poker dealers to feed these Lions, goodluck with that.

-at the Hilton, they have a hired a Barry Manilow look alike to take over the show, apparently Barry is too expensive, so they hired another gay guy and his name is Clay Aiken.

-at the Bellagio, to save money on the water shows, they connected all sewers to the fountain so they can use customer's urine and spit for the water show, so yall better change your clothes if you get wet from this show.

-at the Excalibur, PaiGow dealers are being asked to help prepare the nightly buffet especially when Louie Anderson and Jimmy Fricke is in the house.

-Las VEgas Whore companies will no longer hire illegals to distribute porn ads, they will instead use some of their aging or least attractive aka fugly prostitutes to give out these ads.

-Stations casinos have replace their cleaning staff with dogs, apparently these dogs can lick the rooms clean.

-The Mayor also laid off the whole police force and replace them with Delta Force aka Chuck "mothafaka" Norris.

-and lastly, no more of this dam tours.

Almost won a no-look Sit n Go

Yesterday morning I got bored and decided to mimic what Annette Obrestad did, I put a tape on my monitor so I wont have to see my hands.

Here are the guidelines that I followed playing this $6.50 no look 6 man sit n go.
1.Fold to any raise, no matter how big and what position.
2.Only play on LP and miniraise if no limpers.
3.Limp when somebody else limps.
4.Always bet when it get checks to me and check to the river if I get called and fold to any bet.

So I did all of this and got lucky to get to a headsup situation and I just kept going all in and he must have folded a shitload of hands before he got tired and called me with T8 suited and he deservingly won, it was fun and yall should try it too.

After the game I looked at the hand history of this no look sit n go and I actually folded a lot of good hands from EP and from raises. I missed playing two AK, one Pocket Kings, one Pocket Tens and one AQs.

For all yall fellow Chuck Norris fans, For all yall fellow Chuck Norris fans, I'm sad to inform that they will not be putting his face on Mount Rushmore, the granite rocks are not strong enough to hold Chuck's beard.

The other day I was browsing other poker forums and saw how Joe Sebok apologized for making a crucial mistake during the tournament, everybody was quick to tell him that he don't need to apologize and it was one of those things he needs to do.

Well I decided to play the devil's advocate and posted something like this, "Well Joe Sebok is just reenforcing what we already know about him, he chokes and let his ego control his game during the end part of tournaments, he plays excellent in the begginning then ruin everything by playing stupid hands when it matters. The guy does not know how to finish".

OMG, lots of Sebok asskissers replied with things like I'm disrespectful and I should be ban and so on and so forth. Isn't the purpose of a forum is to share you opinions and ideas?, Why are people so quick to jump on you when you see things differently?.

What kind of name is Joe Sebok anyway, its not cool like a Barry Greenstein or a Chuck Norris is. anyway let me give yall more lame jokes. Joe Sebok aka the Donkey walks in a bar and the bartender says why the long face. Where does a donkey belong, in a mule-seum. Oh btw, there is a movie called Devil's Advocate and Charlize Theron is naked on it.

300 Topless Men

Went to Arena Sports Grill and Bar at the Commerce casino last night, downed a couple of rum and coke and walked to the Poker room. While waiting for an open seat at the $4/$8 LHE, they've announced a new table for $40 NL and they need players, so I grabbed a seat on that table.

First hand, folded to me at MP, got pocket 6's, I raised the pot 3X the blinds, cutoff went all-in, button went all in too, SB folded but BB went all in too, I know I'm getting the odds but I still have 17BB so I folded. They opened their cards, cutoff has AK offsuit, button has Pocket 5's(wow), and BB has A9 offsuit(wtf).

Board turned out to be, (J,J,7,2,T), so Pocket 5's grabbed the $115 pot, I could've won without flopping a set. That kind a tilted me a bit, after a couple of rounds I got Pocket Ten's and went all in with my remaining 10X blinds after 2 limpers, BB called me with Q9 suited, he spiked a Queen on the turn and I reloaded.

This $40 NL is an all in fest, it can be fun but not the game for grinders, you can not win regularly on this game.

So I went home break even after I delivered my own bad beats, I cracked Pocket Kings and rivered a gutshot on somebody, I walked in the house and my relatives are watching this Spartan movie "300", I enjoy watching this movie not only because of topless nice abs men but the visual effects are stunning.

There is actually a rumor of another Spartan movie and my main man Chuck Norris will star on it and I believe the title of the movie is "1".

The other night I was watching my collector's DVD copy of "Night at the Roxbury" which stars Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan, I can't believe it's been 10 yrs since this movie came out, such a classic.

Sweet Caroline

Last night I went to my friend's birthday party and there's the usual too much food, there were 2 big Lechon(roasted pigs) and at least 50 type of food dishes(eggroll,pancit noodle,grilled meat etc), you can smell the yummy aroma while driving on a nearby freeway.

This is how Filipinos celebrate, we always over prepared the food and when you leave we want you to bring some more food home which is kind a cool unless you are on a strict diet.

Around 8pm, they started the Karaoke, this old guy sang "My Way" with so much power, he was good but I'm sick of this song, but this song has become part of Filipino karaoke tradition.

Anyway, there is this white guy who I know can't sing but was force to stand up in front of everybody, his Filipina wife shoved him the mic, feeling embarassed, he quickly pretended to select a song. I decided to save him so I stood up and look for that song that average Americans know how to sing.

And there it was, my personal favorite too, "Sweet Caroline" by the living legend Neil Diamond, I grabbed the other mic and sang with him, and you know what, it brought the house down. As soon as we hit the chorus, everybody stood up and sang with us, it was great, it felt like hitting a one outer on the river.

Then around 10 pm we set up the madjong table and right away ten people were itching to sit. I wanted to play but gave way to the much older crowd and decided to just play backgammon with this whiz kid, he look smart and the kind of kid that does not speak a lot but when he does you would not believe it was coming from a 14 yr old kid. He talked about how it's going to take a decade for the economy to come back and the government is not willing to accept this reality, I just sat there in awe and he almost beat me playing backgammon.

I went home around 2 am, woke up after a couple of hours with a severe hangover but I'm taking it like a man, like a real man Chuck Norris, my main man. Chuck is such a feared guy that when he plays at Fulltilt he is not a Red Pro but the only Gold Pro and his nickname is a three letter word and in case you are wondering what it is, you guessed it right. Chuck Norris is "GOD" at Fulltilt.

Every morning I wake up to a cup of coffee and Ann Curry, she's half asian, half white and one of the anchors of Good Morning America. She's got my full attention when she's on TV, she's got that mouth and lips that I find very sexy,and ohh yeah she also does a very good job of delivering news.

Well this morning they showed her stand up comic debut and she was funny and did a great job. I think I cant be a stand up comic my asian accent will ruin the punch lines. I know one of the writers of Conan Obrien show and he's brilliant, he can make a joke on just about anything. I gave him some of my materials and almost all of them did not pass his taste, only one made it to Conan's monologue.

I like to tell jokes when I'm playing poker, these people are like my audience and most of the time they enjoy my jokes. I have this joke I made that never fails to make the table laugh, I tell this joke when there's an attractive lady playing. I would talk to the lady and say, "you look gorgeous you must have a lot of boyfriends" then follow it up with this, "I also have a lot of boyfriends and I tell you what it's a pain in the butt".

Well I'm not doing good playing online lately but I'm taking it like a man, like a ream man Chuck Norris, my main man, he's such a bad ass that the poker room floor manager calls him to settle poker hand dispute and Chuck normally settles it by just looking at these pinheads, they will just say, "ok its a split pot" and just scamper away like scared puppies. Degenerate Zombies

Like I mentioned from my last blog, I played 3/6 Limit holdem at the Hawaiian Gardens Casino. Los Angeles is is one of the remaining mecca for LHE, this is where you can find 24 hrs of LHE and Commerce casino is the best here.

However LHE in Vegas is dying, gone are the days where the wait list for 15/30 at the Bellagio is more than an hour. Bellagio could not even get 8/16 going on a regular day and when its going its normally shorthanded.

Anyway, back to my homebase casino, Hawaiian Gardens, I look around and see familiar faces, they play a table, stand up scope other tables and request table change if needed. They walk like degenerate zombies constantly looking for fresh meat, I do the same thing once in while but most of the time I stick to my table and let other people move to other tables.

I also notice that there's some tight players here who doesn't like to play against me because they know I'm a three bettor. I sometimes limp UTG with hands like AQ offsuit on full ring games and if button/SB/BB raise then I would 3 bet especially if there's a lot of limpers between me and the raiser. This will not only build the pot but force some players in between to fold, these tight players they would just call with AQ offsuit and let the limpers come in too and then would get mad when their flopped Ace does not hold up.

When you are playing full ring game LHE, isolating players is very important, I can't stress this enough, when you are next to a bet, raise it if you have top pair or a pair with good draws, it doesn't matter if your kicker is low, this will force the next player to fold, now if next player or the initial bettor three bets then that's the time to look at the board and decide if you want to proceed to the turn, lesser the players involved the more chances of you winning the pot.

The stock market continuing to decline is getting me worried but I'm taking it like a man, like a real man Chuck Norris, my main man, he's such a bad ass that he only needs one card when playing Omaha.

Wake up Sleepy Head

Last Saturday morning I woke up around 3am and could not sleep anymore, this stock market is bothering me so much, so the most logical thing to do as a poker addict is go look for action, so I went to Hawaiian Gardens Casino.

I like the half kill pot 4/8 LHE but no available seat, I looked at the 3/6 LHE and saw a vacant seat. I sat down and right away I saw this fellow Asian guy struggling to stay awake, we'll call him SH(sleepy head) for short, he is on my immediate left and on my right is the dealer.

So the dealer would just reach out and grab his cards when its his turn and not wake him up which is cool. Then comes the dealer change, the next dealer is short and small, so she would ask me to get the cards of SH and hand it to her.

After an orbit, there was this hand where everybody folded and it's the turn of SH, he is the SB and I'm the BB, I tried to get his cards but he woke up and momentarily grabbed my hands and yelled, "dont touch my cards", so I replied, "I'm sorry I thought you're asleep. He then raised the pot and said, "you pissed me off so I'm raising". I looked at my cards and its KQ offsuit so I called, I almost 3 bet, flop was A,7,4 rainbow, he bet and I folded my hands. He arrogantly showed his 8,2 offsuit, I felt humiliated but I was ok and plotted something but I'm not sure what it is.

Then after a couple of hands, he dozed off again, then a lightbulb lit up in my head. I looked at the Porter(these are people you can order drinks/coffee) and he's about 36 feet away from me, so I yelled as loud as I can, "PORTER". My loud voice woke SH up, he startled and tried to stand up but fell down on the ground, feeling embarassed he stood up right away, left and gave me a mean look. Table burst into laughter afer he left.

Well, Filipino Poker Tour 5 had just concluded and one of the members of Pokermanila took home 2nd place, his online name is 11finger. I'm sure he's disapppointed he didn't get the no.1 spot but I'm sure he's taking it like a man, like a real man Chuck Norris, my main man. If Manny Pacquaio is a pound for pound boxer, Chuck is the ton for ton fighter, Chuck will not even fight Oscar Dela Hoya coz he knows Oscar wears female lingerie.

New York State of Mind

Last night I dreamt of New York again, no not the New York in the USA but New York St., Cubao, Quezon City Philippines. This is where I grew up and some of the streets are named after famous US cities like, Seattle St., Denver St., New York St. and so on and so forth.

I grew up poor but lucky enough to have relatives who gave me the support to finish college, my father is a womanizer and left my Mom when I was only 7 yrs. old. I remember when I was young, this kid was eating a big custard pie on a nearby bakery and the pie fell down on the ground while he's eating it. He didn't bother to pick it up to discard it onto the trash can but instead left hastily. When I saw that the pie was not that dirty I picked it up and ran home, gave most of it to my younger brother who did not waste any time to devour the whole thing. This is just one of the episodes of my life that I kept dreaming about.

A lot has happened to the Philippines but one thing remains, corruption in government is still rampant, there is so much money in Philippine government that even the most honest person will accept bribes and favors. Just like they say money is the root of all evil.

No limit Holdem Poker is gaining popularity in the Philippines, it used to be I could not find any poker room but now its everywhere. MetroCard Club is the only logical option or tournament poker, and for high stakes cash games, Hyatt Casino Manila is the only place to go.

One thing that pains me is that Limit Hold em is non-existent in the Philippines but I'm taking it like a man, like a real man Chuck Norris, my main man, he's such a bad azz that when he plays poker he brings in his card protector and its a human skull baby.
